2 days ago i went to do a routine check on our sites and then i found that one of our sites had some images erased and then on further checking we had been hacked and they had gained entry too a few of the sites to say i was gutted in a understatement but i got our new server guy to check on everything and give us feedback on the damage and they had gained entry via our new imagehosting site this has since been found out had a mjor loophole in the script and was able to give hackers access to the site.A new patch has been issued to cover the problem but its like after the horse has bolted.
We have gone over the server with a fine tooth comb and have covered ourselves with every form of security going so that we can reduce the risk down even further but i have to say we have been very lucky with this attack and i guess it could have been worse.
Our new Rapidshare link is gather momentum very quickly and we will transfering the site over to our bigger server during the week as the current server does not offer the speed and bandwidth facilities that the bigger one can offer.
